What is my reaction to The Martian by Andy Weir? I loved each and every single page of it. It was such a fun read! I learned a lot such as it is possible to take pure hydroen, burn it, and make it into drinkable water. I also learned that's a great way to set off an explosion, too. :) I was also entertained by Mark Watney's every little nerdy comment. The book made me laugh more than once. I even felt the feelings Mark Watney does, as well as the other characters. I could've done without the constant swearing, though.
The Martian by Andy Weir was very well written, and I am excited for another book to come out from him. I was able to connect to the characters, and I love it when I can do that. That just makes the book even more engaging. I would recommend TheMartian for people to read because it shows the how human spirit is alive, and how humans learn to adapt and overcome challenges in an entertaining way. Great Job Andy Weir!
The friendship in The Martian is very evident. The Ares 3 crew definitly think of Mark Watney as a friend, espeically Commander Lewis. The're willing to risk their own lives to save him.
